What is creativity? How does it work? How can you be more creative every day?

Creativity is a critical skill for the 21st Century. We constantly need new and better ideas for almost every aspect of our professional and personal lives. But how can we generate these ideas, and how can we help our colleagues to be more creative, too?

The answer is simple: enroll in the MOOC on Everyday Creativity, and find out for yourself!

This MOOC, or Massive Open Online Course, is designed to give you practical, research-based answers to these questions. Run by Cyndi and her colleague, John Cabra, Ignite Your Everyday Creativity encompasses and encourages what it means to be creative on a personal level. During the six modules of the course, you will explore four key aspects of creativity:

  • the creative process – ways to generate breakthrough ideas,
  • the creative person – how to make the most of individual particular skills and talents,
  • the creative environment – the physical and psychological factors that enhance creativity, and
  • the creative product – implementing ideas.

The course is taught by two highly experienced professors from the International Center for Studies in Creativity (ICSC), Drs. Cyndi Burnett and John Cabra. The Center is the oldest degree-granting program in creativity in the world, and its faculty focus exclusively on creativity.

With an on-demand structure, you can learn about your own innate creativity and complete assignments at your own pace. We will take you on a journey of creativity using interactive lecture videos, inspirational testimonials, discussion boards, and more.

Summer is here! With every new year comes the desire to improve: eat healthier, spend more time with family, and learn a new skill. And this year, you can add "Ignite Everyday Creativity" and "Be a part of a research study" to your list!

We are looking for a group of 200 participants to go through our FREE Massive Open Online Course "Ignite Your Everyday Creativity" as a cohort. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and have no experience with creativity training. This engaging course begins Monday, June 13, 2016 and includes the benefits of discussion forums, FREE creativity measures, and of course, igniting your everyday creativity!

With this study, participants will be pioneers, helping us utilize our MOOC to research creativity. We plan to determine if “Ignite Your Everyday Creativity” meets the learning objectives of a campus-based course, while improving the structure of distance learning. With your help, we will be able to improve our MOOC as a training and education platform.

So what are you waiting for? Make the commitment to #bCreative this summer!

"I think I finally realize, it's now or never! No more waiting. I must be creative at all times; it's about how one lives! I don't need to be retired, to have a million dollars, to have the children out of the way before I can be creative!”

“Let me add my voice to the chorus of thanks for this thought-provoking, inspiring class. It has changed the way I think about creativity, and may even change my life. You're doing wonderful work!”

"I have done all of the exercises, and gone through all of the lectures and I feel like I have been creatively unbound. I think if you put the work in, and really take the reflective practice seriously, it frees something up inside of you."

“Life is easier and more pleasant. Why didn't I take action before now? Guess I never thought of it!”

“For this course being free, I have to say they didn't skimp on content. Amazing course!”

"I really enjoyed the course and have told many of my friends and colleges about it.  Going through the content has fostered a renewed confidence in my creative abilities.  I enjoyed the videos, assignments and theory.  It was well worth taking this course.”
